Description Makes Characters Come Alive
Yesterday we discussed ways to make a story's setting relevant to students' lives. The next step is to help students relate to the characters in the same way. LitART has many strategies to help students get inside a character's head; one popular activity is to make a WANTED post like in the old west.
1. Select a character.
2. Choose at least 3 key features of that character.
3. Draw the character.
4. Describe what to look for (physical attributes, behaviors, where this character might be found).
5. Offer a reward for help finding this character.
