The A's, B's, and C's of Travel

Taking a Trip Teaches The Alphabet

And using the alphabet builds vocabulary and fluency! Students always love a good word game, especially when it's with something they understand. With this activity students tell a story using the alphabet as a guide. Students tell the story of a trip to places starting with each letter of the alphabet in order. Also, they take something that starts with the same letter with them.

1. The first student says, "I'm going to Australia, and I'm taking an apple."

2. The second student says "I'm going to Bermuda, and I'm taking a banana."

3. The third student says, "I'm going to Canada, and I'm taking a coconut."

4. See if the group can do the whole alphabet.
