Pop-culture as a classroom management strategy.

One great thing about attention getters is their versatility.  Past entries have given you classic examples for catching your students' attention (Clap once, If you hear me . . .).  Well, another way of generating new and exciting AG's is to use pop culture.  Most of your students probably have a favorite T.V. show, and there's a chance that you can use it to make an exciting classroom management strategy that students really relate to.

Here are three you can try:

1.  Hannah—Montana! (or Barbera, depending on the age of your students).

2.  SpongeBob—SquarePants!
