Repetition Puts Names to Brand New Faces
Sometimes it's good to be seen. Presentation and projection skills are important tools for students, both academically and socially. One simple activity that students enjoy is Echoes.
1. Each student has one chance to take the stage and deliver a short, memorized line (give them 30 seconds to think of something). Start with with "My name is____."
2. The group echoes back the line from the back of the room, copying posture and movements.
3. If they cannot hear the speaker clearly, the group echoes back, "what!" and the speaker repeats the phrase.
4. Move quickly through the entire group of students.
