Breaking the Ice

Getting to Know Someone is Easy!

Students can be shy and withdrawn on the first day of class, encountering a new teacher or staff, or just because of changes in the school year.  One way to engage the students is to hold a press conference where they get to ask you questions.  Here's how it works:

1. Choose a student to be your "handler."

1. The handler will choose who asks the questions.

2. Give students ten seconds to prepare questions.

3. For 2 minutes, allow students to ask you questions.

4. You can say, "no comment" for any questions you do not wish to answer.
