Three Cheers For . . .

Nothing Brings a Class Together Like A Song or Cheer

Songs and cheers are always a good way to bring a class together. Students enjoy singing, especially when it's something they came up with; likewise a good cheer galvanizes them whenever they need extra energy to overcome a lesson hurdle. Here's an activity that gets the entire class in on the action!

1. Arrange students into small groups.

2. Have each group write a cheer or song that includes a few actions.

3. It should have at least two lines.

4. Think of a song, melody, or beat to put your song to.

5. Invite each group to present to the whole group.

6. Ask the class to select a featured cheer or song for the week.
