Global Learning Highlights
- LitART model proven successful in the STRETCH after school program in Chula Vista, California. Staff turnover is reduced, students report increased enjoyment of books, and reading fluency scores improve. (1998)
- New LitART program components added to increase oral language development, address the needs of English Learners, and enhance the quality of homework centers. (1998-2000)
- Summer school migrant program model establish. Effectiveness demonstrated with migrant student populations. (2001)
- LitART establishes new program partners in Arizona, Washington, California, Oregon, Delaware. (2000-2002)
- LitART program established in Chicago, Illinois. (2003)
- Bo Bug Shared Reading program introduced to Head Start, Kindergarten, and first grade classrooms. (2004)
- CLASS Library Curriculum released for use with Improving Literacy Through School Library grants. (2004)
- Global Learning establishes partnership with Village Focus International to support literacy development in Cambodia, Laos and India. (2005)
- LitART after school programs established in Hawaii and Virginia. (2006)
- Global Learning adds a blog, podcasts, and video demonstrations to the website to better serve after school staff. (2007)
- Bo Bug Shared Reading program established in Washington D.C. (2007)
- LitART completes development of fifth and final LEARN series. (2007)
- LitART program established in Florida. (2008)
- Global Learning partners with SilverSea Learning to publish Bo Bug Shared Reading and associated online program. (2008)
